Film openings

I have looked at some low budged British film openings as well as some romantic comedies. In most openings, the rule of thirds is used. Some have music in the background, some have just dialogue and some have both, dialogue and music. The tiles come up at different times, in some film openings I've analysed the title comes at the beggening but in some at the end. I think this has a big effect on the viewer as the titles usually give some information on what happend or what will happen later on in the movie.

  1. Good work. You now need to use this research to plan how your opening sequence will look. Your chosen genre is Rom-Com so now you need to think about the conventions of the genre and how you can make your final piece look exactly like the opening of a Rom Com. Also, where are your mind-maps/notes with your initial ideas? Uploading your film pitch presentation will also be a good idea. Any work, initial ideas, plans and notes cannot be credited if it isn't on the blog. Make sure your creative journey is mapped clearly and that your final piece is directly linked to your research.
